Spooky Dress Up Day

Early Years had a scary time on Friday dressing up in their favourite spooky costumes. They made some delicious chocolate apples!

Italy Day

What a brilliant day! The children learned all about Italian art and culture. They are experts in the ‘pasta twist’ and know all about opera singing. We hope you enjoy their pizza suppers.

Black History

Each class has been celebrating the life of  a significant black person.

Reception and Nursery children  learned a Bob Marley song. – Three Little Birds.
 Bob Marley was a Jamaican reggae singer, song writer, musician and guitarist who achieved international fame. His distinctive songwriting and vocal style established his worldwide reputation  as one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. He infused his music with a sense of spirituality. 

Year 1 learned about Martin Luther King who worked against apartheid in America

Year 2 learned about Miriam Makeba,  South African singer and outspoken opponent of apartheid

Year 3 learned about  Olaudah Equiano, a Nigerian slave who later worked to end the slave trade

Year 4 learned about Joan Armatrading, a well known singer who was born in the Caribbean but grew up in Birmingham

Year 5 learned about the comedian, Lenny Henry

Caritas School Logo Day

Well done to all our friends from the other Caritas Christi in Urbe  schools who came together today to design a logo for our schools. They worked really hard and came up up a beautiful idea. Watch out for the finished logo in the future.
