Italy Day
What a brilliant day! The children learned all about Italian art and culture. They are experts in the ‘pasta twist’ and know all about opera singing. We hope you enjoy their pizza suppers.

Safety on the Railways
Today we learned that railway tracks are dangerous! Trains arrive in the blink of an eye and they can’t stop quickly. The tracks and cables are electrified – don’t go near them.
Black History
Each class has been celebrating the life of a significant black person.
Reception and Nursery children learned a Bob Marley song. – Three Little Birds.
Bob Marley was a Jamaican reggae singer, song writer, musician and guitarist who achieved international fame. His distinctive songwriting and vocal style established his worldwide reputation as one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. He infused his music with a sense of spirituality.
Year 1 learned about Martin Luther King who worked against apartheid in America

Year 2 learned about Miriam Makeba, South African singer and outspoken opponent of apartheid
Year 3 learned about Olaudah Equiano, a Nigerian slave who later worked to end the slave trade
Year 4 learned about Joan Armatrading, a well known singer who was born in the Caribbean but grew up in Birmingham
Year 5 learned about the comedian, Lenny Henry
Year 6 learned about Harriet Tubman who worked against slavery in America

Caritas School Logo Day
