Mothers’ Day Assembly

Thank you to Year 1 for a beautiful assembly today. We heard about all the reasons you love your mums.

St Patrick’s Day Parade

The annual St Patrick’s Day Parade was on Sunday 12th March.  The theme this year was  Dance!  We  had an artist in school working with the children to create African masks, costumes and shakers.  Thank you to all the parents who helped and to everyone who came along on the day.

Confirmation

Congratulations to the children and young people who were Confirmed on Thursday by Archbishop Bernard Longley. They worked extremely hard to prepare and made a beautiful contribution to this very special mass as they received the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We are very grateful to all the help given to us by Sister Mary and Father Solomon. We would also like to thank the Parish Youth Group and the Eritrean musicians and singers who helped to make it a wonderful celebration.

Our own school choir were in exceptionally good voice and brought a real sense of joy to the evening. We were also very proud of our young team of altar servers who did a fantastic job of helping the Archbishop during Mass.

Who Stole the Monster’s Underpants?

The Jolly Postman has delivered invites to a special tea party at St Vincent’s this afternoon. We’re hoping to find out who has taken the Bear’s porridge, the zebra’s stripes, Mickey Mouse’s bow tie, Mary Poppins’ umbrella, Robin Hood’s bow and Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts.

What an amazing day. We loved having our parents come in a read with their children. There were some great performances and at the tea party we finally found out who stole all the book characters possessions. Snow White confessed after she was caught on camera! The children forgave after she apologised and promised never to do it again.

Ash Wednesday

What a beautiful Mass today! We sang our favourite Ashes hymn reminding us that  Lent is a time to turn back to our Father who made us like himself. At the end Father Solomon blessed our purple cloths for our prayer tables during Lent.

Shrove Tuesday

Here we are getting ready for Lent. We enjoyed finishing off our pancakes ready for some simple food on Ash Wednesday. The wellies are for collecting coppers for our Lenten Charities. This year we are collecting for CAFOD and for Bishops Fikeremariam’s schools in Eritrea.
