World Book Day

We’ve had a great day sharing all sorts of stories and poems. Have a look at the class blogs to see some of the activities from the day.

Year 6 created blog posts about Tail End Charlie by Mick Manning and Brita Granström. Have a look at their thoughts here

We challenged the children to make a hat to represent their favourite book character. Here’s a selection of their efforts. Well done all.

British Cycling

Here are the Year 5s starting their  6 week cycling course run by British Cycling, sponsored by HSBC Bank.  A wobbly at first but getting better! The challenge is to be confident riders in time for their trip to the Tissington Trail in the summer.

Multi-Faith Exhibition

What an amazing afternoon! The children presented their learning from their multi-faith study last week in a huge exhibition in the school hall. They brought their building models and displayed their  writing and paintings. They made posters and powerpoints.  A group from each class came to answer questions and talk to visitors about their work. A wonderful way to share their knowledge. Thank you to everyone who came and especially the parents who cooked some favourite dishes to share.

Multi-Faith Week

Check out the class blogs to see how the children got on visiting places of worship around Birmingham.

Thank you to our new governor Mr Jabal, who came in to talk to Year 1 about Sikhism.

Confirmation

Congratulations to all our confirmed children and thank you to all who supported them, especially our wonderful choir.

Father Solomon presented the children with their certificates.

Confirmation Sleep Out

Here are our Confirmandi at their sleep out in aid of the homeless. It was an evening of great debate, song writing and prayer.

…and they even got some sleep before a quick breakfast and then out for a litter pick before class.

Vocations

Who is God calling you to be?

Year 3 and 4 learning about the Presentation Sisters from Sister Eleanor and Sister Catherine. Is vocation an every day thing? How do you recognise God,s voice?
Fantastic questions from Year 4. What would your answers be?

Catherine a volunteer from the Columbans came to speak to  Year 1 and Year 2 a and Year 5 about welcoming others and  living the Gospel Values.
