Dear Parents, 

 Congratulations to  … Natasha, Alicia and Catherine  in Year 5 who have earned Silver and to Lucy, Reem and Stephanie in Y5 and Wen and Umar U in Y3 who have earned Bronze. Well done Chancellor and Umar U in Y3 who have gained their 60 Golden Stamps prizes. Keep up the good work.

Parent Workshops – Every Week
Parents are invited to join us every week in their children’s classroom to help with these sessions:

  • Year 2 – Stay and Read Tuesday mornings 8.45-9.05am
  • Reception and Year 1 – Family Phonics Thursdays 8.45-9.10am

Spanish Language Day
Yesterday each class chose a Spanish-speaking country to study. We sang songs, studied geography and language; tasted Spanish food and looked at artists, clothes, music and dance. Thank you to Ms Fernandez for helping us. Photos on the school website under Events.

Our whole school attendance for this week is 97.4%. Let’s see if we can get to 98% for next Friday!

House Points
This week’s house point winners are Abraham with 324 points.
The term leaders so far are Noah with 2665 points. Keep trying hard to earn those points.

St Patrick’s Day Workshop
Come and help make costumes for this on Thursday morning 15th February, from 9am onwards in the school hall. The theme this year will be motherhood. The children of parents who come along can come and help make puppet faces to carry in the parade.

School Nurse Workshop
Year 1 will be learning about how to look after their teeth with our school nurse in a special workshop on Monday.

Safer Internet Day
Thank you to Miss Barr for organising this day for us. The children have learned a lot about staying safe when they are using the internet. Have a look here  for information for parents about safety online.

Debate Competition
Well done to our 3 debating teams who took part in the Debate Mate competition on Wednesday. Miss Khaliq and Mrs Bell were very proud of their performance.

Multi-Faith Week
Next week is Multi-faith week in school. Year 2 got off to an early start and went to visit a Sikh Gudwara today.  Other classes will be visiting places of worship next week.

Y3 Central Mosque on Monday
Y4 Central Synagogue Thursday
Y6 will be going to visit St Chad’s Cathedral later in the year.

 School Mass
Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and there will be a whole school mass in church at 9.15.  All parents are invited to attend.
