Dear Parents, 

Farwell and Thank You
Today we say goodbye to Miss Begum who is moving on to a new career. We are very grateful for the hard work she has given to St Vincent’s over many years and we wish her the very best for the future.

Happy Holiday
Enjoy your week off with your children. We will see you back in school on Monday 4th June.

First Holy Communion
A group of children from Years 3, 4 and 5 will be receiving Holy Communion for the first on Sunday 10th June at the 12 noon mass. Please pray for the children and their families as they prepare for this special event.

Outdoor and Adventurous Education
This will start the first week back after the holiday:
Thursday:    Year 5 cycling at Tissington;
Reception Class forest schools at Hamstead Hall;
Year 3 climbing at Red Point
Friday :        Year 2 team challenge at Sandwell Valley
Please make sure that you have returned your consent form.

Sporting Fixtures
Well done to our Boccia team who played at St Francis School on Monday against other Caritas schools. Great sporting spirit!

Attendance
Our whole school attendance for this week is 95.8% and for May so far it is 97.2%.  Let’s keep working to be in school every day for the best possible learning opportunities.

Nursery Places September 2018
If you have a child who will be aged 3 by 1st September 2018 make sure you apply now for a nursery place. Application forms are available from the school office. Full time places will be offered to those who meet the criteria.

Cultural Evening
St Vincent’s Parish and school will be having a special evening to celebrate the many cultures our families belong to. It will be on Friday 8th June at 7pm in the school hall. Come in your national dress and bring along some traditional food to share. If you would like to present a traditional dance or music, please let us know and we will plan a slot for you.

Congratulations to ….. … Alex in Y5, Shiloh in Y2, Ali, Valoria, Ahmed, Adriano, Ayesha, Hassan Anduen and Glemari in Y1 who have earned their Bronze Record of Achievement; Reem, Arnold and Reanna in Y5, Corwyn, Aisha, in Y2, Perez, Omari and Maya in Y3  who have earned Silver. Sofia in Y2, Mustapha and Pedro in Y5 Rose, Mohammed  and Ayesha in Y1 have earned their 60 Golden Stamps prize and Alex, Pedro, Rochelle in Y5, Tanhia, Shahd, Tysharni, in Y3, Issar in Y2 and  How Jay, Gianna, Mohailam in Y1 and Safwaan in Y4 have all gained their 100 Golden Stamps.  This week we also have some 140 Golden Stamp winners who have won watches or clocks: Hassan, Cieran, Aimr, Giulietta, Mustafa and Jihad in Yr 1, Naomi, Jumana, Amiya, Araim, Rozette, Chancellor, Tysharni, Meya, Umar F, Bethel in Y3; Natasha, Denisandra in Y5; Glevene, Danayi, Sarah and Eugenia in Y2. Keep up the good work!

House Points
This week’s house point winners are Moses with 308 points. Abraham are in the lead with 1351 points on the leader board.  Keep trying hard to earn those points.

Mass
After half term there will be Mass on Wednesday for the whole school in church at 9.15am. There will be a special baptism during the Mass. Parents are invited to join the children to help celebrate.
