It’s time to say goodbye at the end of a wonderful year. I hope you enjoyed reading the Successes Booklet and re-living some of the memories. Thank you for all your support throughout the year. We really appreciate it. We wish farewell to those of you whose children are leaving us and hope you will keep in touch.
Yesterday we were treated to a fabulous performance of Pirates of the Curry Bean by our Year 6 class. What talent! Photos will be up on the website soon.
Congratulations……to Logan and Ebenezer in Y5; Sebastian, Sidem, Sarah, Eugenia, Tendi, Corwyn in Y1 who have won their Bronze Record of Achievement; and to Hermon in Y1 and Leo in Y5 who have earned Silver. Wear your badges with pride.
Today we have given prizes of scooters to our 180 Golden Stamp winners. Well done to you all. Enjoy your prizes.
Congratulations to Moses House, the overall winner of the KS1 and KS2 Sports Days last week. Thank you to the parents who came to support. Find out who won the Tug of War competitions between the staff and parents and between nursery and year 5, by looking at the photos on the website!
Gala Concert Choir
Our wonderful choir are singing at symphony hall tonight, joining choirs from all over Birmingham. Watch out for videos on Twitter! Mrs Brookes is very proud of the choir who have worked really hard this year and sing like angels!
A huge well done to the children who have had 100% attendance this term. And to the 85 who have not had a single day off all year. Our overall attendance for the year is 96.8% – higher than last year. Let’s make it 98% next year!
Secondary School Transfer Meetings
On Tuesday 7th September there will meetings for parents of children going to secondary school in September 2018. They will be held at 3.30pm and 6pm. Please try to attend one of the meetings. There will also be further information about the trip to Whitmoor Lakes at the meetings
The children’s liturgy group will continue for the first 2 weeks the school holidays on Sundays at 12noon mass. All children are welcome.
Thank you to everyone who returned the questionnaire. It has been great to read your views and ideas. We’ll let you know how we get on putting them into action – well some of them! Danayi’s mum won the raffle ticket prize.
If you are buying new school clothes over the holiday, please remember that children must have black school shoes, not boots or trainers. Please also note that hairstyles with shaved patterns are not allowed in school term time. Large bows in the girl’s hair are also not part of the uniform. Uniform will be on sale on Monday 4th September from 1.00pm until 3.00pm. Please note that during the first week of term, uniform will only be on sale in the afternoons as the office is too busy in the mornings.
Second Hand Uniform
In September there will be second hand available from the main school office. Uniform will be freshly laundered and available free of charge. Any parents who would like to donate items no longer needed can leave them at the office.
Holidays in Term Time
Parents are advised that they are not allowed to take children out of school for holidays. The governors may impose a fine for those parents who ignore this rule, since this affects the children’s progress. Absence will only be authorised in very exceptional circumstances which must be agreed by the head teacher in advance of booking.
In September Years 3 and 4 will be having swimming lessons for the year. The children will need a swimming costume and towel. Girls must wear a one piece costume not a bikini. Boys must wear proper swimming trunks not shorts.
And finally …
God bless you and keep you safe during the holidays. Enjoy your children and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 5th September.
